Cartoons were a huge part of my childhood. The 80's version GI Joe is one of it (none of that Sigma Six shit on the Hero channel). "G.I. Joe is the code name for America's daring, highly-trained, Special Mission force. Its purpose: To defend human freedom against COBRA, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world." hahaha!
Their characters were awesome. Duke and Scarlet, Flint and Lady Jaye, Roadblock, Snake Eyes, Shipwreck, Destro and Baroness, Zartan and the Dreadnoks. But my favorite is Cobra Commander. His costumes are always ill and his "Starscreamesque" voice is hilarious. Word to Chris Latta.
Hasbro also did a good job on its action figure line. I remember when I almost throw-up out of excitement every time we went to SM Toyland to get one. Ahhh, those were the days.
Next year, Paramount is releasing a live-action film based on the animated series.
As usual, I'm a bit nervous on the movies outcome. But last year's Transformers proved me wrong.
We'll see...
